Board Member

Alfred Poor and his wife Bebe are relatively recent transplants to Havertown, making their major downsize move from Upper Bucks County in 2018. In 2021, he approached Tom and Paul Kelly about starting a Bluegrass Jam at the Kelly Center and the rest – as they say – is history. Music has always been a part of Alfred’s life. In addition to performing with several bands in the Doylestown area and Lehigh Valley, he has been part of several community choruses. He recently retired from his career as a technology writer and speaker, which will give him more time to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events. A graduate of Harvard College, he also earned a PhD from Union Graduate School and is the author or co-author of 15 books. He has lots of experience as a radio show co-host in Manhattan, and as a volunteer committee and board member for a range of religious and professional organizations.
